Pinterest American image and video sharing social media platform. It launched in January 2010.
I have chosen Pinterest as my product because I use it regally especially for media. It has a wide range of uses.
What makes it unique and interesting is that you can make your own board where you select images and videos you like and you can save them into boards which are like folders and you can decide to make them public or private. It also recommends boards and images that you may like.
Pinterest is aimed at teenagers and above. It has a very wide range target audience its probably a more female aimed audience.
It has been very sucessful as it has a wide range of uses. You can get recipes, home decor ideas, fashion, art, design and a lot more. This has made it a lot more successful because it appeals to a wider audience.You can also follow people and brands that make their boards public that you like the images and ideas.

It uses simple and basic visuals to make it clear and easy to use and visualise.

You could say it could be designed to be used as a social experience (uses and gratification) as it could be used for education as you can learn recipes, skills and like crafts. You could also say its entertainment for escapism.
